Steven Laff
CTO
Magic Beans
Steven Laff heads up online technology for Magic Beans, a very high support family-owned baby gear and toy retailor with six stores in the Boston area.

As a smaller concern that competes with much larger and publically traded competitors, Magic Beans cannot afford to make mistakes in its technology investments. Like most SMB companies, they have to get it right the first time, or be pretty darn close.

One of those investments was to fully commit to being a very early adopter of 100% Responsive Web Design (RWD) almost five years ago. Thankfully this tuned out to be a very wise decision. Since then they’ve been concentrating on developing performance technologies to help overcome some the inherent downsides of RWD including mobile telco performance acceleration.

Steven is also the founder of the award-winning web development and marketing agency “A Far Site Better.”  He holds the patent for the “realZOOM technology” seen on thousands of ecommerce sites when shoppers place their mouse over a product image and a “zoomed-in close-up view” of the item instantly pops up for a better view.

Laff is a regular technology contributor for the Fox Business Radio network and has been featured on the CBS television’s national news, Wall Street Journal, New York Times and numerous industry publications.
